The Paris Eiffel Tower Woven Blanket
Not the Paris of postcards at midnight — the Paris of a slow afternoon, walking a tree-lined avenue with the tower rising at the end of it.
The Paris blanket is a Jacquard woven throw — the Eiffel Tower at the end of a tree-lined promenade in a warm, sunlit vintage palette, woven (never printed) into reversible cotton. Three sizes from $76.63. Shop it on Etsy →
The tower they almost tore down
The Eiffel Tower was built for the 1889 World's Fair and was meant to be temporary — a 20-year installation, after which it would be dismantled. Parisian artists and intellectuals signed a furious petition against it, calling it a "useless and monstrous" iron eyesore. It survived largely because it turned out to be useful as a radio antenna, and then because the city quietly fell in love with it. Today it's the most-visited paid monument in the world and the universal symbol of the city.
This design isn't the tower in isolation, though — it's the approach. A tree-lined Parisian promenade (think the Champ de Mars, or one of the grand Haussmann boulevards) leads the eye toward the tower in the distance, framed by plane trees in full leaf and the soft architecture of the city. It captures Paris the way you actually experience it: not as a single icon, but as a walk that ends in a view.
The palette is warm and golden — honeyed afternoon light, sage and olive greens, cream stone, and the soft iron-grey of the tower — closer to an Impressionist's afternoon than a glossy travel ad.
Woven, not printed
That sunlit, Impressionist quality is all about soft transitions of color — exactly where printing fails and weaving shines. As a Jacquard textile, the golden light is blended from real threads, giving the scene warmth and depth a flat print can't touch. How it's woven →
How to style it
The warm, romantic palette suits French-country, Parisian-apartment, and soft-traditional interiors beautifully. The 52"×37" hangs as a piece of travel wall art; the 60"×50" is the everyday couch throw; the 80"×60" covers a full sofa. It pairs naturally with linen, rattan, and gold.
"My husband proposed in Paris. This hangs in our bedroom now — it's the first thing we see every morning."
Who it's for
This is the gift for the francophile, the honeymooners, the couple with a Paris story, and the dreamer saving for their first trip. As a romantic, anniversary, or wedding gift, a woven Paris keepsake holds the memory far longer than a fridge magnet from the gift shop under the tower.
